A Florida man allegedly killed his father and shot his mother for "riding his a**" about playing fewer video games and getting a job, according to the sheriff's office.

The Polk County Sheriff's Office received a call Saturday night from the man's mother, claiming that her son, 23-year-old Joseph Voigt, had shot them. First responders pronounced the father dead at the scene, while the mother was taken to the hospital in critical condition, as reported by WFLA.

Less than three hours later, Voigt was spotted driving in Orlando and was stopped and taken into custody. Deputies claimed Voigt allegedly admitted to shooting his parents during an interview, as reported by FOX 13.

The 23-year-old reportedly told officers that his father had been "riding his a**" about getting a job, and had been upset with him for spending a lot of time playing video games, according to the sheriff's office.

Voigt is facing charges of murder and attempted murder, as reported by FOX 13. He had been released from jail just a week prior after he was arrested for battery, according to arrest records.
