Florida Man In Coma After Attack By Neighbors For Asking To Turn Down Music

A three-year-old boy may never be able to enjoy the presence of his father in his life after the man was brutally assaulted by his neighbors. 42-year-old Frank Penkava’s family has been left devastated as his condition fails to improve. It is claimed that the victim has pointed out the men responsible to the responding officers. Yet no arrests have been made.

On June 13 around 2:30 a.m. Penkava tried to get his neighbors to reduce the volume of the music that they had been playing. Instead of respecting the neighbor’s request the residents of the home on Johnson Street, Hollywood decided to respond violently.

The group attacked Penkava and beat him up brutally, People reported. The man managed to get away and call 911. He informed the dispatcher that he had been in a fight. He stated that he had been assaulted by his neighbors and that he was bleeding out. Officers arrived at the scene shortly after the attack that took place around 3:49 a.m.

When the officers arrived the victim reportedly had pointed his assailants out. Penkava’s condition was critical and he was taken to Memorial Regional Hospital. Due to the severity of his condition, he was put in an induced coma, Local 10 reported.

Police launched an investigation to find those responsible for the attack. It is unclear why they did not arrest the people the victim had accused. Penkava’s family eagerly awaits the arrests of the man’s attackers.

The victim’s sister, Gina Horvath, set up a GoFundMe page to pay for the massive medical expenses. It has been well over a month since the man was put in a coma. His condition remains unstable. The severity of his injuries has made it risky for doctors to operate on the victim to address his injuries. Till his condition stabilizes, surgical procedures cannot be performed.

Doctors are trying to test Penkava’s brain activity to ascertain if he has suffered permanent brain damage. The victim suffered multiple broken bones and has such severe facial bruising that his family only recognized him from his tattoos.

Penkava’s family has urged anyone with any information of the attackers to contact the Hollywood Police Department.
