The Florida Gators and Tennessee Volunteers first met back in 1916 and since both teams were added to the Southeastern Conference's Eastern Division in 1992, the two legendary programs have played in some of the greatest games in conference history. Since the inaugural meeting in 1916 - which Tennessee won 24-0 - Florida has won 23 times with the Volunteers coming out victorious in 19 but there will certainly be a lot on the line this time around, especially if you're a supporter of the Vols. Playing in the always challenging SEC, the 2013 conference opener between the Gators and Vols could tell a lot about the strength of both teams moving forward.

Florida currently owns an eight-game win streak in the lengthy competition with the Gators also claiming 16 of the last 20 match-ups, displaying their recent dominance in the annual gridiron showdown. Set to play once again this weekend at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium - commonly referred to as 'The Swamp' - the Tennessee Volunteers will have a new coach on the sideline with former Cincinnati head man Butch Jones getting his first taste of this fierce SEC rivalry. The Gators dominated Tennessee last year in Knoxville 37-20 and with loads of pride and bragging rights on the line since the schools are only about 550 miles apart, Jones knows a statement win against the No. 19 Gators would go a long way in rebuilding a struggling program.
