Two wanted men in Florida were finally arrested in Daytona Beach Friday night and are currently facing charges for the assault of another man during a wedding reception in Lake Helen over a week ago. Joel O’Grady, 38 and his 21-year-old son Julian Falkinburg found themselves in the hands of law enforcement following an arrest warrant issued by the deputies of the Volusia County Sheriff’s Office.

According to Click Orlando, the father and son team had gotten into a fistfight with the victim in the parking lot of an ongoing wedding reception at Lake Helen. Police identified the victim as Tyler Kaltenauch who was taken to a hospital after sustaining serious injuries. Deputies said he was viciously beaten and struck in the head and face several times. The pair allegedly continued to pummel and kick the victim even after he fell unconscious. The pair fled the scene before law enforcement arrived.

Cops responded to a 911 call and found Kaltenauch barely clinging to life while laying bloodied and unconscious on the ground. Volusia County Sheriff Mike Chitwood said, “This isn’t like a punch. This is: the guy goes down, and then you stomp on him until he’s unconscious.” “This could have easily been a murder, “ Chief Chitwood went on to say that his office hears of such cases all the time and victims have ended with significant brain damage," he added.

Based on reports from the Daytona Beach Police, Kaltenauch suffered a broken nose and cheek while his lawyer said the victim also sustained significant dental damage and a concussion, adding that the 36-year-old victim will require facial reconstruction surgery. Cops are still trying to determine what had caused the initial argument that turned into a brutal attack on an already unconscious person. The victim’s attorney, Sarah Howeller said the families of all parties involved in the case have known each other for a long time and have some family history.

O’Grady and Falkinburg were booked and placed into custody at the Volusia County Branch Jail on Saturday but were both released on bond. O’Grady walked out of jail on a $100,000 bond while his son was released after posting a $50,000 bond, Both were ordered not to contact the victim as a part of a condition for their release.
