A new Corvette Stingray crashes in Arizona Digital Corvette Forums

Earlier today, Digital Corvette Forum member, gpetry, shared a picture of the very first documented public accident involving the all-new 2014 Corvette Stingray Coupe.

According to gpetry, the accident occurred in Arizona barely a month after the sports car was first unveiled at January's Detroit Auto Show. This is what gpetry wrote in his post:

Got this picture e-mailed from a friend in Arizona last week with the following description:
"Driving through some mountains in Arizona about 30 minutes ago. In some tight switchbacks when we passed this '14 Vette. Cop had just arrived. Car is in worse shape than looks. Hit guardrail on left and bounced back to rocks."
Somebody had a bad day...

Based on the description, the accident took place at least a week ago but the news did not surface on the internet until today.

While details are limited, the blue 2014 Corvette Stingray that slammed into the rocks looks to be the very same blue Stingray that was recorded cruising in Arizona along with two other Vettes a couple weeks ago. The footage was uploaded on YouTube and revealed GM test driver Jim Mero as the man behind the wheel of the blue Stinray at the time. However, the person behind the wheel when the accident occurred could be anybody's guess.

Unfortunately, the damage done to the car is quite extensive and it will likely be written off. To remember its better days, be sure to check out the video below featuring three 2014 Corvette Stingrays, including the same blue Stingray, cruising down Arizona.
