Mexico's chief witch doctor, 'El Brujo Mayor' today predicted that the Mexican national soccer team will win 3-1 against Cameroon in their debut Friday at the World Cup in Brazil 2014 and also revealed that they will advance to the next stage of the tournament. Antonio Vazquez Alba, known as 'Brujo Mayor' today perfromed a ritual in the old quarter of Santa María la Ribera, in the center of Mexico City, to send "strength and energy" the Mexican team and counter the "negative energy" of the Warlocks from Cameroon.
"We will bless the ball," said the Brujo Mayor and took a replica of the "Brazuca," the ball which will be used to play at the World Cup, and prayed that that the sorcerers of Cameroon would "fail to bewitch [the Mexican team] with water or dust....We have blocked the Cameroon team so we cannot be damaged by their witchcraft and rituals," he added. The spell sought help from Quetzalcoatl, the Aztec god, to bless and protect Tricolor ball "against negative vibrations, witchcraft (...), envy and ill offices".
El Brujo Mayor, who each year makes predictions on political and sporting issues, predicted that Selección Mexicana, headed by Miguel Herrera will "win the first game 3-1 against Cameroon." He said he would help as much as possible, but emphasized that El Tri "need to get to work and play as a team." He used a balm to permeated the Cameroon flag "to neutralize" the offensive potential of the African team. He also did a Tarot card reading, which, according to his wisdom, Mexico would win.
As for the second match against Brazil, El Brujo said that perhaps the Mexican team can salvage a draw and that with these results, it will advance to the next round. He also predicted that Brazil would win the match tomorrow against Croatia, and that, in the opening game, the Brazilian team "will be supported by 30,000 Brazilian witches that will be in the stadium." During the Olympic Games in 2012 Vazquez Alba predicted that Mexico wold win the gold medal with a score of 2-1 - he was right!
