Still From The Video
Still From The Video

Last week the Israeli Army made headlines when a group of four female soldiers posted a photo on Facebook posing suggestively in their underwear. After being reprimanded for "unbecoming behavior," they posted three more photos wearing very skimpy underwear while they covered their breasts with rifles.

Following the outrage, the Israeli military developed new guidelines on how soldiers and top brass are allowed to use social media, Ynetnews reported. Although most soldiers are still permitted to use social media, those in a classified intelligence position face stricter limitations.

"There is no problem with a Golani soldier taking photos in uniform, but he is absolutely forbidden from publicizing operational details," the IDF's Information Security Department said.

Nonetheless, a video of female Israeli soldiers dancing provocatively in their underwear, using a rifle as a stripper pole and spanking each other, went viral on Tuesday sparking even more controversy in the Israeli Army. One of the women is heard telling another to "dance on the rifle like a slut," The Times said.

The soldier filming the video is also heard saying she would upload the video to Facebook and tag the dancers. Although the soldiers' faces can be seen in the video, it's still unknown if the girls in the video are the same soldiers as the ones in the pictures that sparked anger amongst their superiors.

After all the international attention on the soldiers' unprofessional behavior, Orit Adato, the former commissioner of the Israeli Prison Service said in an interview that the military should be stronger with the punishments.

"We must make clear to the soldiers the harm this does to us (the IDF) both here and abroad. I would crack down on this. After two or three times that people are punished severely, others will be deterred from doing it."
