Viewers are already two episodes into the zombie spinoff series, "Fear the Walking Dead" and the network has announced it has already renewed the show for a third season.
The premiere kicked off with a bang showing our survivors evacuating to the yacht Abigail when the military begins to bombard Los Angeles in an attempt to contain the undead threat. But while out at sea, the group learns that the open waters may not be as safe as they assumed.
According to the network's announcement, "Fear the Walking Dead" is now the second most popular cable show this TV season, behind the popular "The Walking Dead" series. The spinoff zombie series premiered high to an 8.8 million-viewer debut.
IGN reports, the third season will receive a total of 16 episodes when it airs in 2017. AMC also announced that the series will again be accompanied by the ongoing live aftershow, "Talking Dead: Fear." The show always airs directly after every new episode and is hosted by Chris Hardwick.
The show stars Kim Dickens as Madison Clark, Cliff Curtis as Travis Manawa, Frank Dillane as Nick Clark, Alycia Debnam-Carey as Alicia Clark, Mercedes Mason as Ofelia Salazar, Lorenzo James Henrie as Christopher Manawa, Rubén Blades as Daniel Salazar and Colman Domingo as Victor Strand.
While we have grown to love the current cast it is safe to assume that not everyone will make it to the next season.
An all-new episode of "Fear the Walking Dead" is set to air April 17 at 9:00 p.m. EDT on AMC. The coming episode titled, "We All Fall Down," will see our group seeking shelter with a survivalist family. While Madison tries to uncover the family's true motives. Plus Salazar works to uncover Strand's true intentions as well.
