The world changed for Luis Fonsi in December 2011 with the birth of his daughter Mikaela. The adorable 3-year-old toddler is the first child of Fonsi and Spanish model Águeda López, whom tied the knot in 2014. For the 37-year-old singer, fatherhood is a true blessing and has stated that "no masterpiece can top the creation of a child by a mother."
In the Father's Day spirit, Fonsi talked about the best piece of advice he received from his parents prior to becoming a dad.
"The biggest advice my parents gave me was before my daughter was born. 'Sleep as much as you can now, because you'll never sleep ever again,'" he said to Billboard. "And it's true, my daughter is great, she sleeps great, but I'm always waking up and wondering 'where is she?,' 'how is she?,' 'is she O.K.?,' especially because I travel so much."
The "Yo No Me Doy Por Vencido" singer expressed that no matter how far away he is from home, he's always with his "Princess Mika."
"I could be miles away but my heart always stays at home with her. Now, it's just patience and enjoy the ride," he said, stating that his baby girl is growing up so fast. "She changes so much, she learns so much. I try to celebrate the little things in life, especially when I'm home."
