Father Raped 13-Year-Old Girl, Filmed Child Abuse Porn During Daughter's Sleepovers

An Ohio man has been sentenced to 20 years in prison on Wednesday, Sept. 1, after being found guilty of sexually exploiting minors between 2018 and 2019 during his young daughter's own slumber parties at his residence.

Scott Surgener, a 43-year-old man from Cincinnati, Ohio, has been convicted for his sexually explicit behavior around two girls, including a child who was younger than 13 years old at the time of the assault, according to a U.S. Attorney’s Office press release.

Surgener reportedly exploited the underage girls, taking explicit photos and videos of the victims while he was sexually abusing them. The father reportedly committed the heinous assaults while the minors were at his place for sleepovers with his young daughter. His recurring abuse yielded over 28 videos and images of the explicit assaults in question.

These 28 images and videos were found in his phone, with the GPS tracker indicating that all of these materials were shot at his house in Springdale, located in the Hamilton County of Cincinnati.

He has also been found guilty of rape after he admitted in March to sexually assaulting the two girls in question. He was given 17 years for that admission, which he will serve concurrently with the 20 years, according to the Cincinnati Enquirer.

Surgener was first investigated by the police of Cincinnati after his phone was found to have sexually explicit images of an assault of another 13-year-old girl hidden in a decrypted calculator application.

The images were disturbing nature, with one looking up the legs of the 13-year-old child while naked. His plea includes admitting to being guilty of creating child pornography using the two young girls, according to NBC affiliate WLWT.

The identity of the victims has been withheld from the public, and it is not known what the state has done to ensure the mental and physical wellbeing of the young assault survivors.

Upon release, he will also be supervised by officials for 10 years and registered as a sex offender.
