Father Kills Infant Son For Crying Too Loudly By Feeding Baby Poison Instead Of Milk

A merciless Indian father has been accused of murdering his own infant son by replacing the baby's milk formula with poison due to his frustration over the child crying too loud.

The tragic incident reportedly took place at the Veera Chandpur village in the Katihar district of Bihar state, India on Friday, Oct. 1.

On early Friday, the child's mother Poonam Devi left her one-and-a-half-year-old son identified as Yugmit Kumar under the supervision of her 24-year-old husband Munna Mandal. However, Mandal would reportedly feel annoyed by the child's incessant crying. The frustrated dad has been accused of deciding to poison and kill his own child by feeding his newborn son pesticide instead of milk, the Times of India reported.

When Devi returned home, she noticed that her son was lying on her husband's lap unresponsive and motionless. Mandal, who is an autorickshaw driver by profession, claimed to the woman that he accidentally fed the baby from a 100-milliliter pesticide bottle instead of milk.

"She had left the child, who was crying continuously, in his father’s lap. After some time, Devi observed that the child had fallen silent. After returning to the room, she found the child lying motionless in her husband’s lap. Mandal, an autorickshaw driver, angrily told her that he had fed him poison instead of milk as a 100ml pesticide bottle was kept at home," Sunil Kumar Rai, Pothia officer-in-charge, said.

A distraught Devi proceeded to alert and seek help from her neighbors and they immediately rushed the baby to a hospital for treatment. However, the child was declared dead on the way to the health facility, Times Now reported.

Devi has since approached police officials regarding the incident and has lodged a First Information Report (FIR) against her husband.

Mandal has reportedly been on the run since the infant's death. Authorities have launched a manhunt and mounted efforts to arrest the accused father.

In a similar but unrelated incident, a Bronx man named Keishawn Gordon, 23, reportedly killed his girlfriend Jessica Melendez's one-year-old infant Legacy Beauford in an apartment at the Webster Houses in Morrisania on Sept. 9. Gordon allegedly punched the baby for crying too loud, causing broken ribs and lacerating the young boy's liver, Latin Times reported.

The baby’s lacerated liver caused internal bleeding which ultimately resulted in the infant's death, according to the city Medical Examiner’s Office. The infant also reportedly suffered blunt-force trauma on his torso and bruising on his face, among other injuries.

Gordon initially told the investigators that he gently squeezed the boy’s stomach and tossed him in the air to pacify him. However, he later confessed to inflicting serious injuries on the baby.

“I was frustrated he wouldn’t stop crying. He kept throwing up. I mushed him. He was irking me,” he told the investigators.

After severely injuring the baby, Gordon even reportedly took a toothbrush and gruesomely sodomized the boy with it, according to law-enforcement officials.

Gordon has been charged with murder, manslaughter, aggravated sex abuse, and sex abuse charges.
