It has been a very emotional weekend. On Saturday, Nov. 30, actor Paul Walker lost his life alongside his friend Roger Rodas in a deadly car crash in California. The two men were holding a charity event to raise money for people affected by the typhoon in the Philippines and to provide toys for kids who wouldn't have presents around the holidays, when Rodas asked Walker to take a spin in his red Porsche. Rodas allegedly lost control of the vehicle and slammed into a post. The car burst into flames, taking their lives. Investigators believe speed was a factor in the single-vehicle crash, but it is unknown what caused the very experienced Rodas to lose control of the vehicle.
At the time of his death, Walker was working on the newest movie of the "Fast & Furious" franchise. Production began in September, and while a large portion of the film has been shot, the movie is still incomplete. The Universal Pictures film was set to resume shooting in Atlanta after a holiday break - with Walker slated to appear in key scenes throughout the week - but the cameras stayed down. It was recently announced that production on "Fast & Furious 7" is officially on hold following the untimely death of Walker, who played ex-cop Brian O'Conner in all but one installment.
It is unknown when shooting will resume as filmmakers consider how to adjust the storyline. It is also unknown if the scheduled release date will remain July 2014. A Universal spokeswoman declined to comment on any delay or future plans.
