Production on "Fast and Furious 7" has been shut down indefinitely following the death of star Paul Walker this past weekend, The Hollywood Reporter confirmed. “Right now, all of us at Universal are dedicated to providing support to Paul's immediate family and our extended Fast & Furious family of cast, crew and filmmakers," Universel said in a statement. "At this time we feel it is our responsibility to shut down production on Fast & Furious 7 for a period of time so we can assess all options available to move forward with the franchise. We are committed to keeping Fast & Furious fans informed, and we will provide further information to them when we have it. Until then, we know they join us in mourning the passing of our dear friend Paul Walker."

"Fast and Furious 7" was already on a tight schedule and the release date was set for July 11, 2014, with production coming to a hault it won't be a surprise if this date changes. It was previously noted that the majority of the film had been shot and the cast and crew were expected to travel Abu Dhabi in January to shoot big action-sequences. Production will have to get creative in the way they will have to write Paul Walker out of the film that is respectful and honors his work throughout the series of films. With the upcoming release of "Fast And Furious 6" in Blu-ray, one of the extras the disc contains is a scene from the sequel and that footage has now leaked online. "The scene in question is the gang at Han's funeral. If you were hoping that his death at the end of Fast & Furious 6 was a misdirect, it looks like you're out of luck," Movies.com wrote. "He's dead for real, and it's hit the gang hard. There aren't any tears shed (they're all too manly for that), but Vin Diesel does croak out 'You were always my brother, Han. He put you in this grave, so now I'll do the same to him.'" RELATED: Watch Paul Walker In Last Film ‘Fast And Furious 7,’ As Footage Leaks Online [VIDEO]
