Pagani Zonda FnF The Fast and The Furious

One of the most celebrated automotive action flicks of our generation, The Fast and The Furious franchise was always a good, if not caricatured, representation of the automotive enthusiast landscape. From the classic Dodge Charger and the Yenko Camaro to the modern Nissan Skyline GT-R and Mitsubishi Evolution, The Fast and The Furious franchise has always been markedly independent regarding their car casting process while other big production movies like James Bond or The Avengers made deals with select automakers to provide publicity.

Now, sources from The Fast and The Furious have confirmed that the new rear-wheel-drive Subaru BRZ sports car has earned the feature role in the movies' next installment. According to Motor Trend, Subaru delivered five BRZ coupes to the film's production company, suggesting that the Subaru will likely be involved in elaborate and expensive stunts that risks the destruction of more than a couple duplicates.

Assuming FnF's track record, expect the hero BRZ to feature a full body kit complete with over-the-top bumpers, skirts, spoilers, and custom paint scheme. We expect The Fast and The Furious to inject significantly more power into the standard 200-hp BRZ as well, although the movie has also been known to dress up a standard BMW 530i into an E39 BMW M5 clone.

Further details on the BRZ or on the movie are unknown. However, given its lithe and nimble characteristics as well as its JDM-ness, our best bet is it will likely be Paul Walker's car of choice.

Another car featured in the movie will be the extravagant naked-carbon fiber Pagani Zonda hypercar. Little information regarding its role in the film is known but a quick post up on Instagram has generated buttloads of buzz regarding the movie's development. Stay tuned in the months ahead as we wait for the trailer of the upcoming The Fast and The Furious 6.
