Former UFC Champion Tito Ortiz sent a message to former WWE champion Alberto El Patron, popularly known as Alberto Del Rio, as the former shoves the latter during their staredown for their upcoming MMA match for Combate Americas. The fight is part of a multi-fight deal with the promotion.

On the video posted by MMA Mania on Twitter, the Mexican-American wrestler barely established his stance during the staredown before being sent back multiple steps by the UFC Hall of Famer.

Del Rio, before plunging into the WWE scene, was already competing in mixed martial arts. Sherdog shows his record as a masked “Alberto Rodriguez”, at 9-5 win-loss card with his last fight happened almost a decade ago. He once fought Croatian MMA heavyweight Mirko Cro Cop which resulted in a KO loss after a head kick 46 seconds after the opening bell.

Ortiz, on the other hand, last stepped inside the cage last year in his trilogy with another UFC Hall of Famer Chuck Lidell. The fight ended after “THe Huntington Beach Bad Boy” made quick work of Lidell via first-round knock-out victory.

Stakes are high in this match-up as both fighters agree to give up one of their title belts to the winner, according to reports from BJPenn.com. “I want to put my belt up just because I’m a huge WWE fan, and I’ve always wanted a heavyweight world title,” said the 44-year old Ortiz. He also added that he would also become a champion if he was given a chance to fight in the promotion.

Followers of both worlds, MMA and professional wrestling, started debating on who is going to come out victorious on the fight of the UFC legend and the first Mexican WWE champion.

Looks one-sided, huh?

The fight will be held on December 7 inside Payne Arena in Hidalgo, TX as a PPV event priced at $39.99.
