The provincial governor of La Altagracia said this Monday, Nov. 28, that a total of 4,035 families have received assistance in the province of La Altagracia as a result of the passage of Hurricane Fiona, which has had an economic impact of 67.6 million pesos, Diario Libre reported.
It was emphasized by Martina Pepén Santana that following a government uprising, the families in the province of La Altagracia who were devastated by Hurricane Fiona are now receiving relief through the social program Supérate RD that was created by President Luis Abinader, said reports.
In order to lessen the effects of emergency events, the voucher consists of a freely accessible, unconditional, and temporary monetary transfer. They'll be supplied via a hybrid payment system that accepts both checks and cards.
The duration of the Emergency Bonus contributions will be determined by the level of affectation that the families experienced. Deliveries are scheduled for two consecutive months for homes that experienced a minor impact, three months for those that experienced a moderate impact, and four months for those who experienced a severe or total impact said reports.
The first category called "mild" is the houses that did not suffer losses, to which an amount of 5,000.00 Dominican pesos will be delivered in two months.
Meanwhile, families in the second category, known as a medium affectation, will receive resources for three months, and four months for those families where the situation was catastrophic, that is, they suffered high or total affectation.
87 families will benefit from the mild modality, according to Santana's statement regarding the matter relating to checks. Each cheque for an amount of 5,000 Dominican pesos was given to these parties in two separate transactions.
Families that have the Supérate card, electricity voucher, or gas voucher will receive aid through this route. One thousand six hundred and seventy-one families will benefit from this modality.
For individuals who don't have a government card, the banking option will be employed, and the aid will be placed in an account. In this way, 2,547 families will benefit.
