YouTuber Jake Paul is looking for a new challenge and it appears he has found one in Sonny Bill Williams.
The former rugby player and now heavyweight boxer has accepted a challenge by the YouTuber after Williams was named a possible future opponent.
The 36-year-old is undefeated in nine boxing fights, winning four of them via knockout. His last fight was last March when he won via knockout in the first round against Barry Hall at the ICC Exhibition Center in Sydney, Australia, the Sun reported.
With the mastery he has shown in the ring, Williams is aware of the advantage he carries. While he lauds Paul for what he has done to the sport, he vowed to hand the 25-year-old his first professional boxing career loss.
“Looks like I’m on the hit list. I’m not gonna hate on this guy at all as I respect what he’s done. I also really respect his skillset as a boxer. But if he wants some he can get it! @jakepaul Yours respectfully - your first loss,” the 36-year-old posted on Twitter.
Before accepting to fight the YouTuber, Williams was linked to a potential bout with fellow Rugby legend Paul Gallen. Reports have it that both were planning to slug it out with $4 million on the line.
But probably aware that he stands to earn more if he faces Jake Paul, the trajectory shifted.
Williams was among the potential opponents the Paul had in mind. Others on the list included Floyd Mayweather Jr., Oscar de la Hoya, Anderson Silva, Michael Bisping and Tommy Fury.
These names were on the alleged “hit list” of the YouTuber after which Williams responded.
Paul last fought in December when he knocked out former UFC middleweight champion Tyron Woodley. He was originally set to face Tommy Fury but the Briton pulled out due to a rib injury.
