Daughters of an ex-hooker have won their estate fight over the fortune of a slain Northern California millionaire.
A judge has ruled that two 9 and 7-year-old girls are the daughters of millionaire Ravi Kumra.
According to reports Kumra was killed at his Monte Sereno mansion on Nov. 30 when authorities say gang members with ties to prostitutes Kumra knew broke in, bound and gagged him and made off with cash, jewelry and rare coins. Five people have been charged in the case.
The 66-year-old Kumra's wife, Harinder, was beaten in the attack.
Court papers in the case claimed the Indian-born millionaire led a life filled with prostitutes, drink and drug problems, illegitimate children and an alleged sham divorce. The businessman is best known for owning Mountain Winery in the 1990s.
In April, the girls testified that Kumra was their father. They called him "Pappi." He took them to Disneyland and wrote them emails saying "we love you lots." The judge ruled this as "clear and convincing evidence" that the children belonged to Kumra.
Goggins said she loved Kumra, and she was no gold digger. "It wasn't about the money," she said. "I'm not going to lie, it's not that it didn't help, but that's not all I saw."
While Kumra's older daughters, ages 35 and 33 may not agree, Goggins said, "my girls deserve the best and that's all I want for them and that's what Ravi wanted for them."
