Eva Longoria wants to show the world that even working moms like her can be just as great as other moms. Since the beginning of 2018, Longoria has been stealing the show by bringing her son around with her at work.
Santiago, Longoria’s one-year-old son, made his red carpet debut at the Cannes Film Festival last year. Donning a mini tuxedo, the babe even made more headlines when he accompanied his mom to Paris Fashion Week and on the runway to celebrate the L’Oreal Ready to Wear Spring-Summer 2020 collection.
Considering how full her plate always is, many of her fans wonder why Longoria chooses to bring her son to work. Aside from being an actress, she is also a renowned director, producer and activist, and seeing her going to work with a child tagging along is quite unbelievable for some.
In a recent interview, Longoria said that she considers bringing Santiago to work an important part of her everyday life. “For me, it’s not a matter of importance, just my life,” she said. “I’m a mom and I have stuff to do. He’s along for the ride. I’m directing, he’s there with me. I’m at an event, he’s there with me. I’m on set acting, he’s there with me,” she added.
She also revealed that bringing her son to work is part of her conscious effort to normalize motherhood in the entertainment business. “It’s not like, ‘Oh, I think it’s important that he is,’ it is vital that he is. Part of it is normalizing motherhood in our industry. We’re moms and this is what we do,” she explained.
Currently, Eva Longoria is busy with a lot of projects but she makes it a point to always be present in her son’s life every step of the way. Next year, she is set to direct “Flamin’ Hot,” a biopic about Richard Montanez. During the interview, the actress director revealed how meeting Montanez was changed her life.
“Just meeting Richard Montanez, and hearing about his story, and seeing how he’s persevered and has reached a level of success that wasn’t meant for him is super inspiring,” she said.
