Actress, producer, philanthropist, businesswoman, activist and designer Eva Longoria is adding another success to her career. The Mexican-American beauty is debuting her clothing line at New York Fashion Week, according to WWD and later confirmed by Longoria herself through and Instagram post. “I'm so exited [sic] to be presenting my fashion line at NYFW! It's a dream come true! Can't wait for the world to see our Spring 2018 collection! Link in bio. #EvaLongoriaCollection #NYFW17,” the actress captioned the photo.
Longoria will be part of the Kia STYLE360’s roster at Metropolitan West, with showcases starting on Sept. 11 with Rosario Dawson and Abrima Erwiah showcasing artisanal sustainable fashion for a social change. Also that night, Andy Hilfiger will be hosting his show as creative director of Artistix by Greg Polisseni.
The showcase also includes Vanessa Simmons, Timo Weiland, Livari by Reiner, Claudine DeSola, Tabitha St. Bernard-Jacob and Uncommon James + Chinese Laundry by Kristin Cavallari.
The Texan actress will stage her first catwalk on Sept. 13 at 11am with an eponymous, affordable collection in association with Sunrise Brands. "Sunrise Brands is proud to partner with Eva Longoria on the development of her brand. The Spring 2018 Collection embodies Eva's confident, classic, feminine style which translates across all of her designs," Rachael Barnard, CEO said in a statement.
According to the press release, the spring collection offers a fresh perspective and bold attitude, with effortlessly chic looks reflecting Eva's unique personal style and everyday wardrobe. It also features a variety of separates, dresses, denim and outerwear, showcasing relaxed silhouettes, and ultra-soft fluid fabrics, in a medley of natural and rich tropical hues.
Eva made sure to create a collection that would not only reach the working woman, but also include women who do it all, and is also showcasing #SETLIFE, a line of sweatpants, sweatshirts and casual wear inspired by Eva’s days on set as an actor and director. She wanted women to feel confident in their everyday essentials.
The latest collection includes a wide range of sizing from XS-XXL and 0-18, at accessible retail price points ranging from $29-$129 . It exudes classic styles with contemporary silhouettes, and unique modern details. "I wanted to create a beautiful line that makes women of all shapes feel empowered," says Eva, promising to stay true to herself and her DNA with this line – the collection reflects her signature classic, yet fresh and modern style.
Eva Longoria first launched her clothing line in the fall of 2016, following her first-ever home collection with JCPenney, which she launched in April that same year. "I've been wanting to design my own collection for a very long time now and it's a true privilege to be associated with Sunrise Brands, because they have a lot of experience in fashion," she expressed in a statement at the time.
"I'm very excited of designing a collection for women that will offer versatility and project confidence, comfort and glamour," she said. "I finally have the time to dedicate myself to this, before I was very busy," she added.
Longoria’s first collection was sold exclusively at The Limited, until she launched her own website carrying her line at the beginning of 2017. "If a woman is comfortable in what she's wearing, she's going to have confidence and feel empowered," Longoria said in a statement. "This collection is a reflection of my own lifestyle."
