Actress and producer Eva Longoria has joined forces with Will Packer to co-produce a new multi-camera comedy for NBC titled “Bonita & Mechelle.” Longoria is already producing shows with Latino leads such as “Devious Maids,” NBC’s upcoming “Hot & Bothered,” which she stars in, and the upcoming political drama, “Pair of Aces.” Packer is known for his movie franchises starring African American leads, including the hit “Ride Along” and “Think Like a Man.” The series will be written by Kriss Turner Towner from “The Soul Man.”
For this, Longoria and Packer will be combining their strengths following the story of a Hispanic woman and an African American one; the two are single moms who end up living together and fighting the struggles of parenthood side by side. The show will come from the two production companies, Will Packer Prods. and Longoria’s UnbeliEVAble Entertainment, both under a deal with Universal TV as the studio.
Dates for release and casting for the series have yet to be announced, but we will sure keep an eye on any news, because we cant wait!
