Telemundo's primetime block will be looking slightly different next week. The Spanish-language network is shaking things up by premiering a new production called "La Esclava Blanca" at 9pm ET/PT starring Nerea Camacho, Miguel de Miguel, Orian Suarez and Modesto Lacen. This means that the other telenovelas will be affected creating a domino effect. "Eva La Trailera" starring Edith Gonzalez, Arap Bethke and Jorge Luis Pila will be moving to 8pm ET/PT. The one soap that has it the worst is "¿Quién Es Quién?" starring Eugenio Siller, Kimberly Dos Ramos and Danna Paola, which is moving to a daytime slot at 1pm ET/PT. The only series that will remain unchanged is "El Señor De Los Cielos" with Rafael Amaya. All these changes take effect on Monday, April 18.
The lineup changes at Telemundo for "Eva La Trailera" and "¿Quién Es Quién?" are a response from their less than stellar performances as Univision edges out both productions nightly. "El Señor De Los Cielos," which airs at 10pm ET/PT, is the only production that consistenly ranks higher than its direction competition "El Hotel De Los Secretos." It's no surprise that the Spanish-language network is staying put with its slot. The premiere of "El Señor De Los Cielos" alone "ranked as the #1 Spanish-language program in primetime among total viewers, adults 18-49 and adults 18-34, and ranked as the #1 broadcast program in the 10pm hour regardless of language among adults 18-3." ESDLC has continued to stay on top since its premiere.
Univision is ready to premiere a new series called "Yago," which they recently announced to take over the slot that "Pasión y Poder" currently holds. With Telemundo premiering a new soap a couple of weeks ahead, it puts it at an advantage for people to stay interested in the network and not sample, Univision's offer. By the time "Yago" starts airing, Telemundo viewers will be hooked on its new production. The 9pm time slot is where both networks air their most important telenovelas and neither want to lose out. Only time will tell if these changes were good.
"Eva La Trailera" follows the life of Eva Soler a strikingly beautiful woman that was once deeply in love with her husband, Armando, Eva is now disillusioned with his descent into drinking and partying, especially his neglect of their autistic youngest daughter, Fabiola. Soon, Eva finds herself enmeshed in a web of betrayal as her own husband conspires to kill her and have her take the blame for a shocking crime. In the midst of this turmoil, she has one consolation: the unconditional love and support of Pablo Contreras and the passion she begins to feel for him in turn... But Eva finds it hard to believe in anyone anymore and plans revenge against her enemies with her new friends from jail. Only when her vengeance is almost complete, when it might already be too late, does she set out to win back the confidence and trust of the man who brought love back into her life.
"¿Quién Es Quién? is the story of Pedro and Leonardo, twin brothers so identical in appearance that even their mother had trouble telling them apart. Due to a dark secret, Pedro and Leonardo were separated at birth and forced to live completely opposite lives.
