Enraged Neighbor Chops Politician's Mother, Toddler Son To Death

The mother and a 3-year-old son of a local political leader were chopped to death by their neighbor following a dispute over water.

The shocking incident happened Tuesday, July 27, in the Gorakhpur district of Uttar Pradesh, India.

The mother and toddler son of the local Bharatiya Janatha Party (BJP) leader, Parshuram Shukla, were allegedly murdered by the suspect, identified as Sitaram Shukla.

According to the police, the BJP leader’s family reportedly had a dispute with the suspect who lives next door as water from the suspect’s terrace used to spill over the politician’s door.

The BJP leader had alerted his neighbor about the issue, however, the suspect ignored the complaints. After repeated complaints, the suspect decided to double down on the BJP leader by digging a drain around his door.

Following the provocation, the BJP leader went to the local police station to register a complaint against the suspect but was reportedly sent back by the police saying the matter doesn’t fall under their jurisdiction.

The BJP leader then approached the Integrated Grievance Redressal System (IGRS) and filed a complaint demanding justice.

Based on the complaint, police officials responded to the politician’s residence on Tuesday to probe his complaint.

Since he was out of town, the investigators returned after inspecting the locality and inquiring with the suspect’s family.

According to the police, the police investigation angered the suspect, who in a fit of rage grabbed a spade and charged towards the neighbors home.

Once there, he attacked the politician’s family- instantly killing his mother and toddler son. The BJP leader’s wife and 10-year-old daughter, who came to the rescue, also suffered stab injuries to their head and other parts of their body.

The suspect fled the scene after the alleged attack.

The politician’s wife and daughter were rushed to the nearby hospital, where they are reportedly continuing in critical condition.

Police have registered a case against Sitaram who is reported to be absconding. Police have identified some of the suspect's family members who are being investigated for their involvement in the murders.

Meanwhile, the police have initiated a manhunt to nab the suspect.
