A Minnesota man confessed to the gruesome murders of his former girlfriends, describing in chilling detail how he killed, dismembered, and hid their bodies in storage units, according to a report.
Joseph Jorgenson pleaded guilty to two counts of second-degree murder in a Ramsey County courtroom on January 4, 2025, admitting he killed Manjieh "Mani" Starren by strangulation and Xayavong by blunt-force trauma.
Jorgenson, 41, became a prime suspect in Starren's disappearance in April 2023, after her father reported her missing, KARE 11 reported.
In June, police found her dismembered remains in a St. Paul, Minnesota, storage unit.
During the investigation, a tip linked Jorgenson to Fanta Xayavong, who had been missing since July 2021, according to NBC News.
Her remains were later discovered in a Coon Rapids storage unit, prompting prosecutors to formally charge Jorgenson for both murders.
The court heard how he dismembered both bodies and stored the remains to conceal his crimes. Jorgenson showed no emotion as he recounted the murders.
Jorgenson is scheduled for sentencing on February 28, 2025, and faces a maximum of 40 years for each murder. The sentences will be served concurrently under a plea agreement that dismisses unrelated charges of arson and resisting arrest.
Authorities do not suspect Jorgenson in additional homicides but continue to investigate his actions.
