All the glitz and glamour of Hollywood will be alive at the Emmys 2017 red carpet. The Microsoft Theatre in Los Angeles is the place where the biggest stars in television will come together to celebrate the best of shows. Before the main event, our celebrities will walk the press line and show off their best ensembles and see the new trends in fashion. In the golden era of television there are many worthy shows that received a mention this year and it will be extremely difficult to choose one. It was HBO's "Westworld" and NBC's "Saturday Night Live" that were the most mentioned with 22 nods each. As far as the network's go, it was HBO that got the most nominations with 110, followed by Netflix with 91.
For the top award in the Outstanding Drama Series the following shows are nominated: “Better Call Saul,” “The Crown,” “The Handmaid’s Tale,” “House of Cards,” “Stranger Things,” “This Is Us” and “Westworld.”
On the comedy side the following shows scored a nod: “Atlanta,” “Black-ish,” “Master of None,” “Modern Family,” “Silicon Valley,” “Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt” and “Veep.”
Competing in Lead Actress In a Drama Series are: Viola Davis for “How To Get Away With Muder,” Claire Foy for “The Crown,” Elisabeth Moss for “The Handmaid's Tale,” Keri Russell for “The Americans,” Evan Rachel Wood for “Westworld” and Robin Wright for “House of Cards.”
In the Lead Actor In A Drama Series the following are vying for the award: Sterling K. Brown for “This Is Us,” Anthony Hopkins for “Westworld,” Bob Odenkirk for “Better Call Saul,” Matthew Rhys for “The Americans,” Live Schreiber for “Ray Donovan,” Kevin Spacey for “House of Cards” and Milo Ventimiglia for “This Is Us.”
On of the most competitive categories of the night is Lead Actress In A Limited Series or Movie with the following actresses nominated: Carrie Coon for “Fargo,” Felicity Huffman for “American Crime,” Nicole Kidman for “Big Little Lies,” Jessica Lange for “Feud,” Susan Sarandon for “Feud” and Reese Witherspoon for “Big Little Lies.”
One of the most fun categories of the night is lead actors in the comedy which include nods for Lead Actress In A Comedy Series for Pamela Adlon for “Better Things,” Jane Fonda for “Grace and Frankie,” Allison Janney for “Mom,” Ellie Kemper for “Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt,” Julia Louis-Dreyfus for “Veep,” Tracee Ellis Ross for “Black-ish” and Lily Tomlin for “Grace and Frankie.”
In Lead Actor In A Comedy Series the following are nominated: Anthony Anderson for “Black-ish,” Aziz Ansari for “Master of None,” Zach Galifianakis for “Baskets,” Donald Glover for “Atlanta,” William H. Macy for “Shameless” and Jeffrey Tambor for “Transparent.”
