Actress Emma Roberts was recently arrested in Montreal, Canada, following an incident with her boyfriend, Evan Peters in a hotel room.
The two young actors met last year on the set of the dark comedy "Adult World," which was shown at this year's Tribeca Film Festival, and have been spotted in public displays of affection since becoming a couple.
Roberts, the 22-year-old niece of actress Julia Roberts and daughter of actor Eric Roberts, and Peters, 26, got into a heated argument earlier in the evening of July 7, that ended up with the pair physically assaulting one another.
Some hotel guests staying on their floor called the Montreal police and reported a disturbance in the couple's room. When they got there, officials noticed that Peters had a bloody nose and a bite mark and Roberts was taken into custody.
She was released hours later because Peters elected not to press charges against her.
The two were said to be hitting each other and Roberts was arrested because Peters had obvious physical injuries, a source told TMZ.
"Officers on the scene reported light injuries to both people. The female suspect was arrested, but no charges were pressed in court so she was released," a police source confirmed to the Daily News. "It is a closed case at this time."
Addressing the incident, Roberts and Peters' reps told Us Weekly in a joint statement: "It was an unfortunate incident and misunderstanding. Ms. Roberts was released after questioning and the couple are working together to move past it."
The couple are now reportedly back together and are working on Peters' hit show American Horror Story.
