Billionaire Elon Musk, after a recent report that he allegedly paid US$250,000 to keep a sexual harassment case quiet, was reported on Wednesday to have had twins with an executive from his companies Tesla and Neuralink.
Recent court filings from the two showed that Elon Musk had twins with Neuralink executive Shivon Zilis in November, a few weeks before Musk’s ex-girlfriend and indie singer Grimes gave birth to their daughter via surrogate, according to the Daily Beast.
Zilis is the current director of operations and special projects at Neuralink, and has had deep ties with Musk over the years: she has been involved in a high capacity in three of his companies over the years: Neuralink, Tesla, and OpenAI, TechCrunch reported.
She is a Yale graduate who has worked for companies like IBM before her association with Musk, and is considered an expert in the field of artificial intelligence, making her an important piece to a lot of the projects that Musk’s companies have at the moment.
Zilis was also floated as a potential CEO of Twitter when the acquisition dealings for the company started in April.
Musk's twins with Zilis would put the children he fathered with other women to a total of nine, including his two children from Grimes, and the twins and triplets that he has from a previous marriage with author Justine Wilson. One of Musk’s children with Wilson was recently reported to have petitioned in court to change her last name due to not wanting to associate with Musk.
Many observers of the situation have worried that Musk and Zilis’ relationship may cause problems for Neuralink, whether due to a potential anti-fraternizing policy set in Neuralink or a decrease in morale from workers in the company.
This also complicates the recent report where Musk reportedly paid a flight attendant for SpaceX US$250,000 after he allegedly sexually harassed her by showing his penis to her before propositioning a horse to her in exchange for sexual favors.
Neither Zilis nor Musk has commented on the situation. The company Neuralink, meanwhile, has yet to release a statement about the situation.
