Elderly Man Who Allegedly Groomed Child Slashes His Throat In Front Of Police Station On Being Confronted By Pedophile Hunters

It has emerged that a 55-year-old man stabbed himself in the throat after he was confronted by pedophile hunters in Liverpool Friday afternoon.

A video of the incident appeared on Facebook Live. It showed the moment when he reached his car and pulled out a knife. Then he slit his throat. The clip of the distressing incident has since been removed, reported Daily Mail.

Soon emergency services descended on a car park where the incident took place. The injured man was taken to a hospital where he is in a stable condition now. The site is located near c, and has had a heavy police presence throughout Friday evening with a cordon in place. Mirror reported that a car had been towed away from the scene on St Chad’s Drive. It is next to St Chad’s Health Centre.

Merseyside Police confirmed they were informed about it and called to the scene at around 5 p.m. The man from Kirkby was later arrested. He is suspected of grooming a child under 14. He was also arrested due to possession of a bladed article.

A Merseyside Police spokesman said that at around 5 p.m. cops attended "an incident near Kirkby Police Station where a man was detained." The spokesman shared that the man was taken to hospital with "serious injuries to his throat following the incident where he remains in a stable condition." He added that an investigation is underway and a scene in place in the area while officers continue witness enquiries and examine CCTV footage."

The spokesman stressed that this is a live investigation and people should not speculate "about the circumstances of this incident as it could jeopardize our enquiries."

Liverpool Echo reported that a DJ, who works at a local pub and is not connected with the incident, said that he reached the place for his shift shortly before 5 p.m. He claimed to have seen police everywhere. He said that people stood there watching as everything unfolded before a sheet was put up and the man was taken in an ambulance.

One man said that he thinks "it’s bringing Kirkby to its knees. It worries me all the police and knives what’s happening.”
