Elderly Dog Walker Loses Teeth After Being Attacked By Man Eyeing Her Purse

A man has been sentenced to eight years in prison after he violently assaulted a 63-year-old woman in Birmingham while trying to snatch her purse, causing her to lose some of her teeth.

The suspect, identified as Ameral Hare, has been found guilty of launching a vicious attack on a 63-year-old woman in order to steal her handbag while she was walking her dog on Kineton Road, United Kingdom in May earlier this year, the Birmingham Mail reported.

Hare, of no fixed address, reportedly drove past the woman in a blue Vauxhall Corsa while the victim was walking her dog. After spotting the woman, he turned his car around and pulled over, jumped out of the vehicle, and launched an attack on the woman. Hare then threw the victim to the ground and kicked her in the face in order to steal her handbag. However, the handbag only contained poo bags for her dog and a flashlight.

Following the attack, the West Midlands Police reviewed CCTV surveillance footage and doorbell camera footage from the nearby areas and identified Hare as a suspect.

Upon interrogation, Hare claimed to the officers that he’d lent the car to a friend on the day of the incident, seemingly in order to trick them into believing that he wasn’t responsible for the attack. However, his story and the footage officers obtained of the brutal mauling simply didn’t add up, Express & Star reported.

Hare has been found guilty and sentenced to eight years in prison following a trial at Birmingham Crown Court last Tuesday, Nov. 16.

In a similar but unrelated incident, a man was seen punching a 77-year-old woman in the face while stealing her purse and bible in Queens on Sept. 12.

The CCTV surveillance video obtained from the scene shows the suspect jabbing the woman in the face while tugging at her purse. The suspect then managed to get hold of the woman’s belongings and fled the scene, leaving her with cuts on her hands. The victim was evaluated by emergency medical services (EMS). However, she refused additional medical treatment, Fox News reported.

The incident comes after the NYPD released a video of a separate incident where a suspect can be seen kicking a 32-year-old woman down an escalator in Brooklyn’s Atlantic Ave-Barclays Center Station.
