Mexico defeated Ecuador 3-1 in Arlington, Texas, with both teams looking ahead to their World Cup debuts in Brazil 2014 . The friendly match was played at the AT & T Stadium. The greatests concern right now is for the fractured tibia and fibula of Mexico’s Luis Montes; the playmaker was hit by Ecuador’s Segundo Castillo, but the severity of the injury has not yet been determined. The Mexicans won with goals from Montes (m33), Marco Fabian (m68) and Giovani Dos Santos (m76), while the Ecuadorians scored with Enner Valencia (m80).

El Tricolor had no order in the midfield as the game opened - this was exploited by the Ecuadorians; at 2 minutes, Giovani dos Santos took a free kick that went over the crossbar. Mexico then conceived a counterattack, but keeper Máximo Banguera left his area and managed to repel the ball. El Tri had gained confidence, however, and at minute 33 , Montes Banguera beat keeper; the playmaker scored after taking advantage of a collective move between Rafael Marquez and Peralta.

A troubling incident occurred at inute 35, when Montes tried to take the ball from Castillo; the Mexican hit the right leg of the Ecuadorean, and the two were injured in the encounter. According to Twitter he suffered a fracture on his right leg. The second goal was another Mexican one: Marco Fabian, came in from the upper right corner (m69). Dos Santos scored the third goal for the Mexicans when a poorforward pass was intercepted (m76). Enner Valencia scored through a freekick (m80).
