A division of NBCUniversal Telemundo Enterprises, Telemundo International Studios was founded in 2016 to produce short, high-quality programs designed to meet the growing demand in international markets and from emerging platforms for high-end, short-format scripted series. Telemundo International Studios works in close collaboration with Telemundo Studios, the network’s U.S. production unit, which produces an average of 800 hours of programming per year, including the highly-rated series’ “Señora Acero,” “El Señor de los Cielos” and “Sin Senos Si Hay Paraiso,” among many others.
Telemundo International Studios produces big-budget Premium Series in Spanish, averaging 10-15 episodes available for different platforms, including broadcast, cable and digital media. Each series will be produced and cast by leading Hispanic entertainment industry talent from the U.S. and abroad.
“El Recluso” is a Spanish-language adaptation based on an original format created by Underground Producciones S.A. and Radio y Televisión Argentina S.E. The original format is exclusively distributed by Dori Media International GMBH.
