Lydia Cacho continues to claim she has constant contact with Kate Del Castillo. During a recent interview with Radio Fórmula’s Javier Poza, the Mexican journalist revealed Del Castillo has decided to put Joaquín “El Chapo” Guzmán’s biopic on hold and focus on other projects. “She is trying to stay away from bad people such as, Sean Penn, who is a professional manipulator and has done enough damage,” Cacho told Poza.
Back in January, the 52-year-old human rights activist exposed Penn as a traitor. “In my opinion it is pretty clear there was betrayal. I think there is some sexism and racism in the equation on Sean’s behalf, what I’m trying to say is, he used her, and left her alone as soon as the investigation began,” she said via Skype on “Al Punto” with Jorge Ramos.
Cacho, who has been very vocal about her conversations with the actress, added her friend has been very cooperative with both, Mexican and American, authorities and argues she has nothing to hide. “She is doing very well. She collaborated with American authorities and has nothing to hide. In fact, American authorities don’t have a case against her,” she added.
According to TVyNovelas, 6 production companies in the U.S. were interested in participating in “El Chapo’s” movie project. However, since Rolling Stone published Penn’s interview with the infamous kingpin, no one has come forward and openly admitted they were involved.
It was recently revealed that Guzmán and his lawyers are working with American attorneys and looking forward to negotiate his extradition to the United States.
