We are not quite sure when this real life telenovela will end, but one thing is for sure…we are sitting back and enjoying the ride! Earlier this week, Kate Del Castillo’s good friend and respected journalist, Lydia Cacho, revealed that Del Castillo had decided to put Joaquín "El Chapo" Guzmán’s biopic on hold to focus on other projects. But according to Kate’s dad, Eric Del Castillo, that is completely false.
According to TVyNovelas, Don Eric, who just returned to Mexico City with his wife, Kate Trillo, after visiting their daughter in Los Angeles, confirmed that the 43-year-old actress is still interested in telling the life story of the Sinaloa Cartel leader, and added his daughter has nothing to hide and is willing to cooperate with authorities whenever is needed.
"When the right moment comes, she has always said that she will collaborate with authorities. She hasn’t been called, and they have nothing against her in the U.S., the problem is here [in Mexico]," he shared with the Mexican magazine.
Back in January, the telenovela star made very strong declarations against the Mexican government. "I don’t want to give the media any explanations. If I’m not saying anything is because my lawyers advised me not to do so because the government wants to destroy me, no matter what," she told Univision.
Even though recent reports disclosed she was required to testify in both countries after Rolling Stone magazine named her as the primary connection between "El Chapo" and Hollywood actor Sean Penn, no further details about her testimony have been publicized.
Doña Kate also contributed to this interview by stating that both, her and her husband, support Kate 100%, "I don't pull her ears, I applaude her."
