In the aftermath of a heated NFL playoff clash that went viral, Ryan Caldwell, a Philadelphia Eagles fan, lost his job after a video caught him verbally assaulting a female Packers fan.
It all unfolded during Sunday's NFC wild-card game at Lincoln Financial Field, with the footage sparking outrage.
BCT Partners, a management consulting firm specializing in diversity, equity, and inclusion, conducted an internal investigation and confirmed Caldwell's dismissal in a Tuesday night Facebook post. While the company did not explicitly name Caldwell in their statement, his identity was verified by The New York Post.
"In keeping with our company values, which are firmly centered on respect, dignity, and inclusion, we have decided to part company with the employee. This separation is effective immediately," the statement read.
"We condemn our former employee's conduct in the strongest possible terms. This individual's conduct and language were vile, disgusting, unacceptable, and horrific and have no place in our workplace and society."
The video shows Ally Keller, a Packers fan, and her fiancé, Alex Basara, minding their own business when Ryan Caldwell begins hurling misogynistic slurs at them.
At one point, Caldwell can be heard shouting, "She's an ugly, dumb c–t. You gonna do anything? Shut the f–k up and watch the game."
The altercation reportedly escalated from "playful jabs" to outright hostility.
In addition to losing his job, Caldwell faces a permanent ban from Lincoln Financial Field, the Eagles' home stadium.
BCT Partners expressed hope for Caldwell's personal growth despite condemning his actions.
"None of us deserve to be remembered for actions taken on our worst day. We have offered grace and support to our former employee," the company wrote.
BCT Partners also extended an apology to Keller and Basara. "We sincerely apologize to the victim and for the many ways in which these events already have impacted so many people. We remain committed to gender equity and fostering a culture of respect and dignity for all."
Keller and Basara described the situation as "dangerous".
While Caldwell has not commented publicly, the viral video is still sparking conversations about fan behavior.
One Eagles fan on X wrote, "Coming from an Eagles fan, I'm sorry. We're not all like this & I'm disappointed no one around him stepped in to say anything."
Another added, "Grown men that act like this over professional sports are the biggest losers."
