Dzhokhar Tsarneav is the surviving suspect in the Boston Marathon bombings, and he has revealed to investigators that he and older brother, Tamerlan, learned how to build bombs from an online magazine that is published by al Qaeda. Al-Qaeda is a global militant Islamist group founded by the now deceased Osama bin Laden; the group claimed responsibility for the 9/11 attacks.

Dzhokhar told authorities during his bedside interrogations that the information needed to learn how to build a bomb was found online. According to his brother, Tamerlan Tsarneav read the step-by-step instructions in Inspire which according to federal law enforcement officials is an online, English-magazine that al Qaeda began publishing in 2010.

Inspire has featured instructional article on how to build a pressure cooker bombs two times. U.S. officials have revealed that the Tsarneav brother's were motivated by radical Islamic views, however, it seems they acted alone and are not in connection with any Muslim terrorist group. This would create a link between Inspire magazine and their choice of explosive.
