Spotify, Apple Music, and YouTube are among the best barometers to determine how well artists are doing at certain moments in time. So we did just that to see whether some of the most prominent Latinos are still leading in the charts.
Bad Bunny holds a leading place in Spotify music, featuring two songs from his new album in the app's Top 50 on Friday: they are "Perro Negro" and "Monaco," which hold the fourth and fifth place, respectively. He also leads the Top Global Albums category with "Nadie sabe qué va a pasar mañana." Bad Bunny has officially announced his "Most Wanted Tour" to present his newest album. He is set to travel through the U.S. for 47 concert dates including cities with three dates such as Miami, Brooklyn, Chicago.
Another Latino music powerhouse, Peso Pluma, is on fifth place in the weekly top artists chart and sixth on the weekly top albums one with "Génesis". Colombian singer Karol G is in eighth place in the weekly top artists chart and is also featured in the Top 50's 10th spot with her song QLONA.
Antonio Vázquez, Spotify's head of U.S. Latin editorial, said in July to Hits Daily Double that "Latin music streams on Spotify have increased by almost 170% in the last five years" and that "Latin music within the Spotify Global Top 50 has increased 90% since 2018." "In the last five years, Mexican music listening has increased by 450% globally, and today, one in three listeners of Mexican music is from Gen Z," he added.
Latinos are also featuring high up on Youtube charts. Maluma and Carin Leon's "Según Quién" holds the second spot, while Bad Bunny's "Monaco" is in fourth and Myke Tower's "LALA" in fifth. Karol G and Peso Pluma's "QLONA", meanwhile, is in seventh and "Si No Estás" by iñigo quintero in ninth.
Moreover, El Conejo Malo holds the lead in the U.S.'s top songs category with "Monaco." "El Amor De Su Vida" in sixth but is top one music video, and Peso Pluma, Gabito Ballesteros, and Junior H's "Lady Gaga" in seventh top song.
Additionally, the top artist leading in YouTube is Bad Bunny, while Peso Pluma comes in second and Mexican singer Junior H in seventh. Karol G is ninth, but she currently has the top music video in the U.S. for her song "Mi Ex Tenía Razón". "Un x100to" by Grupo Frontera and Bad Bunny is placed in tenth in the top music videos in the U.S.
