Disturbing Social Media Post Sparks 'Gut-Wrenching' Allegations of Mistreatment at Kansas Day Care Center

A Kansas father took to Facebook to share a negative review about a day care center his child attended, which then sparked a slew of similar allegations by other customers.

Jeff McAnarney wrote on Facebook Tuesday that he received a message from the day care his 2-year-old son Booker attended, Honey Tree and Branches Academy, saying that his son had been left "alone in the bathroom" and "was told to clean up his own urine."

McAnarney told KSN-TV that he and his wife filed complaints with the Kansas Department of Children and Families about what had happened. He then took to Facebook to share the story, where McAnarney said he received dozens of messages detailing problems others have had with the day care.

"It's gut-wrenching, and I will tell you that the messages I received from other mothers, Booker had it kind of easy compared to some of the others," McAnarney told the station.

Another couple, Ashley and Logan Meyer, said they saw McAnarney's post, and told the station they had to move their two daughters from Honey Tree and Branches Academy after having negative experiences with them.

"We've got friends, we've got past employees we hang out with all the time, and it's still a hot topic of, 'Oh my goodness, this is what happened this week. This is how my child's day-to-day care is going right now,'" Ashley Meyer told KSN-TV.

Kimberly Fielding, owner of Honey Tree and Branches Academy, told the station that the claims of the boy "sitting in his urine for a long period of time is absolutely false."

"That complaint would always have to be investigated and cleared. We've never had substantiated complaints against us ever," Fielding told KSN-TV.
