Diane Kruger Reveals Her Mother Questioned Joshua Jackson About His Mugshot When They Met [PHOTOS & VIDEO]

They're probably Hollywood's cutest couple, but it wasn't at all "cute" when Joshua Jackson met girlfriend Diane Kruger's mom for the first time.

While promoting her new FX series "The Bridge," Kruger, 36 stopped by Jimmy Kimmel Live! and revealed probably one of the most embarrassing moments of her 7-year relationship with her Dawson's Creek beau that happened right when he met her mother.

"I'm from a very small village in Germany, so I don't usually bring boys back unless they're somewhat serious," Kruger explained. "It's a tradition in Germany when you come home to have coffee and cake, it's very German. So I prepped him. I said, 'You have to have cake and you have to have coffee, even if you don't like it.'" Though Jackson, 35, has a nut allergy, Kruger recalled telling him, "'You're eating it. You're definitely eating it.' So, he did."

Everything seemed to be going well, until Diane's mother, Maria Theresa remembered something she had to show the two lovebirds.

"I was translating. I thought we were doing so good," Kruger reminisces, noting that her mother did not speak English. "Then my mom goes, 'Ah, wait. I have something for you.' She goes into the office and comes back with this plastic folder of Internet clippings of Josh. With his mug shot. She thought it would be cute to go, 'So, I see you've been arrested in 1997 at a hockey game. It says, 'Whose fault was it?' We were there for three days, we did not speak for two. It was not good."

Jackson was actually arrested for drunk and disorderly conduct in November 9, 2002 at a Carolina Hurricanes hockey game in Raleigh, N.C., for allegedly assaulting a security guard. He agreed to take alcohol education class and perform community service and the charges were dropped.

Diane, who wore a floral skirt and polka dot top, admitted the Fringe star was not her first celebrity infatuation.

"I will admit that when I was very young I had a huge crush on Don Johnson and I continue to do so," she said, and later added she could not control herself when she finally came face-to-face with him after director Quentin Tarantino introduced them at a Vanity Fair post-Oscars party after she had too much to drink.

"Quentin goes 'look who's here' and I turn around and its Don Johnson with his wife and I immediately start crying. He is so embarrassed and his wife is embarrassed for me and my boyfriend says, 'you really need to stop talking now.'"

Jimmy Kimmel made sure that everyone knew Kruger was telling the truth, when he pulled out a picture she had taken with Johnson when they met.
