A Michigan library was forced to close after a DVD rental was returned filled with bugs, according tor a report.

The Royal Oak Public library shared the closure announcement on social media, stating that "multiple species of bugs" had been found in a DVD case returned via the book drop over the weekend.

The DVD was reportedly returned sometime between the library's closing on Friday and its reopening on Saturday. The book drops were "immedi ately locked," and all returned items found inside were bagged and quarantined in the library's garage, according to CBS Detroit.

Library staff, uncertain about the type of bugs found in the DVD case, have reached out to a pest control company for assistance.

The library will stay closed until the bugs are identified and the issue is thoroughly resolved.
