A trailer for “Demon Slayer” season 3 is officially out, released last Apr. 16. The trailer set the stage for a new arc set, which will be the Swordsmith Village arc.
Released by Aniplex, the third season of “Demon Slayer” started by recapping the latest events. This includes the tragic death of Flame Hashira Rengoku Kyojuro, something that concluded the global blockbuster movie Demon Slayer: Mugen Train.
Aside from that, there was an intense battle between Tanjiro Kamado and the strongest demons he’s faced so far. There is also the Upper Rank 6 duo of Gyutaro and Daki – the climactic confrontation of Demon Slayer season 2’s Entertainment District arc.
From there, the trailer shows how the anime series will continue to follow the manga’s lead to the new arc. It briefly introduces Mist Hashira Muichiro Tokito and Love Hashira Mitsuri Kanroji, two characters who have not been since the first season.
The Swordsmith Village arc begins with Tanjiro, his ever-evolving demon sister Nezuko and their comrades Agatsuma Zenitsu and Hashibira Inosuke traveling to the Swordsmith Village to repair Tanjiro’s badly damaged sword.
The second season of “Demon Slayer” wrapped up in February 2022 and a third season was confirmed to be in the works.
As of this writing, there is no official word on when the third season will come out. However, most are anticipating it to happen as early as 2023.
Given the success that “Demon Slayer” has had, there are high expectations tied to the third season.
In December 2020, Mugen Train became the highest-grossing film of all time after it sold over 27 million tickets for a cumulative total of 37.1billion yen (about $351.6 million).
It also became the second anime film after Pokemon: The First Movie ever to hit No. 1 at the US box office.
