“Demon Slayer: Kimetsu No Yaiba” Chapter 187 is likely to feature one of the fiercest battles ever seen in the manga series. Speculations are pointing to the possibility that the backstory will show how the powerful demon Muzan will be up against the most powerful slayer Yoriichi and how the fight might benefit Tanjiro as well.
Previous “Demon Slayer” speculations were a bit off as they assumed that Tanjiro would be finally confronting Muzan in that strange place that he suddenly found himself in. However, that wasn’t the case at all since it was revealed that Tanjiro was actually experiencing a memory fragment he inherited from his ancestor, Sumiyoshi.
In the most recent “Kimetsu No Yaiba” manga chapter, Tanjiro initially wondered why he can’t seem to control the words coming out of his mouth as well as the actions of his body. This led him to conclude that he was just a passive observer at that point.
However, the memory did not center on Sumiyoshi. Rather, the entire chapter was basically a backstory about Yoriichi Tsugikuni, the first breath-user and perhaps the strongest demons slayer in the series.
When his mother died, Yoriichi felt unwanted so he decided to run away from home. It was during his travels that he eventually met Uta. They eventually got married and she bore him a child.
When Uta was in labor, Yoriichi left home to fetch a midwife. However, he found out that upon coming back that a demon killed both his wife and his unborn child. This event caused him great distress but it was also what motivated him to become a demons slayer.
On the last page of the chapter, Yoriichi finally met the boss of all demons. “Demon Slayer: Kimetsu No Yaiba” Chapter 187 is expected to continue with the narrative so fans can expect an epic clash between two powerful foes.
However, this memory will likely be useful to Tanjiro as well. Since the fight will show how Yoriichi managed to defeat Muzan, it could also mean that Tanjiro might employ the same technique to defeat the current Muzan as well.
