This year on the musical reality show, Demi has the task to mentor the the girls. In its third season the Simon Cowell produced show eliminated the bootcamp and judges houses stages and introduced the four-chair challenge. This new stage of the competition is new to the musical reality and it has the top 10 finalists of each group singing in front of the judges hoping to land a spot in the four chairs. Once the four chairs are filled and if the mentor wants to keep a singer, they have to do a switch-a-roo and replace the contestant with one that is sitting down. Demi had a difficult time keeping and switching her team and received a lot of boo's from the crowd, particularly when she switched out Ashly Williams in favor of Rion Paige. Williams had an incredible audition and on her team she had a couple of singers that did not do as great, but were still pushed through. Her final team consists of Paige, Khaya Cohen, Danielle Geimer and Ellona Santiago. The live shows of "The X-Factor" start on October 22, when the show returns from a brief break.
