Acclaimed musician and superstar Taylor Swift has been on a whirlwind tour across the United States while breaking and setting several records along the way. Some of her stops included the NRG Stadium in Houston, Texas where Swift broke the record for being the first act in history to sell out three shows on a single tour. While at her show at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey, Swift was named their "#1-Best Selling Artist" during her third performance at the venue. Now finalizing the U.S. portion of her tour, Taylor Swift is setting her sights on Latin America with confirmed dates in Mexico, Argentina, and Brazil for later this year.
It is no surprise that the "Bad Blood" and "Karma" singer has fans, also known as "Swifties", across the globe. One of these fans just so happens to be the leader of Chile, President Gabriel Boric, who has his heart set on meeting the superstar himself. In a posted video on YouTube, President Boric explains how he hopes to encourage Swift to visit Chile in the near future. In the clip he is quoted saying "One day, she'll listen to the Chilean Swifties and I have no doubt she'll come to Chile. Hopefully within the next three years."
The Latin American leg of her tour starts off August 24th in Mexico City at Foro Sol Stadium. Swift has already broken another record here by becoming the first female act in history to schedule four shows on a single tour in the venue. She will be accompanied by fellow singer and friend Sabrina Carpenter, who will follow her 12 show run across the three Latin countries. With fingers crossed, Chilean fans will have to wait and see if Taylor will ever respond to the world leader's request.
