"Deadliest Catch" returns for Season 9, Tuesday, April 23 at 10 p.m. on Discovery, however on of the stars is missing from the show. The youngest captain or skipper as they say on "Deadliest Catch," Elliott Neese, is missing from the preseason episode, "Mutiny On The Bering Sea."
It seems as though Neese has been fired as captain of the "Ramblin' Rose" after struggling to make catches last season and was then fined by State Wildlife Troopers.
While fans are shocked the young skipper won't return to "Deadliest Catch," other captains saw this coming. Sig Hansen, a 30-year veteran and a third generation fisherman, captains the Northwestern, he is not surprised that Neese is missing from this upcoming king crab season. Hansen said, "In all honesty, I'm not really surprise Neese isn't here, no owner is going to let a guy run his boat and produce. You're going to lose your job."
However, maybe Neese is not missing after all. The "Deadliest Catch" star tweeted this morning:
"I've never missed one ;) don't believe everything you see it a tv show there has to be drama and conflict and resolution its TV."
Hmm, maybe the "Deadliest Catch" star is only missing from the promos but was still involved in the fishing season.
I guess we will just have to wait until Season 9 begins to find out!
