Comedian Dave Chappelle returned to host "Saturday Night Live," delivering a poignant monologue that urged Donald Trump and the nation to embrace empathy, particularly for displaced populations such as Palestinians.

As the U.S. prepares for Trump's unprecedented second term as the 47th president, political and social tensions are running high.

Chappelle, known for blending humor with social commentary, used his platform to reflect on global crises, including the displacement of Palestinians, drawing parallels to humanitarian issues closer to home.

In a nearly 17-minute monologue, Chappelle shared a personal story about witnessing former President Jimmy Carter's courageous visit to Palestine amidst criticism, calling it an act of humanity and courage.

He contrasted Carter's empathy with the current political climate, urging Trump and Americans to prioritize compassion for those suffering, whether in affluent areas like the Palisades or war-torn regions like Palestine.

"I mean this when I say this, good luck. Please, do better next time. Please, all of us, do better next time. Do not forget your humanity, and please have empathy for displaced people, whether they are in the Palisades or Palestine," Chapelle said.

Chappelle's plea for empathy struck a chord with audiences and reignited discussions about America's role in global humanitarian efforts.

As Trump prepares to take office, his administration faces heightened expectations to address issues of displacement, inequality and international conflict with greater humanity.
