WWE Superstar Darren Young recently announced that he is gay, making him the first openly-gay wrestler in the WWE.
In a very candid video with popular celebrity news outlet TMZ, the 29-year-old indicated that he is extremely happy with his career path and he wasn't shy about expressing other feelings.

While picking up his bags at Los Angeles International Airport earlier this week, Young was asked by a reporter if he thought a gay wrestler would be able to find success in the WWE. Smiling and laughing during his response, Young was very open to the question.
"Absolutely," he replied in the interview. "Look at me. I'm a WWE Superstar and, to be honest with you, I'll tell you right now, I'm gay, and I'm happy. Very happy."
The 2010 WWE Slammy Award winner also said he doesn't think sexuality should matter when it comes to being a professional athlete while also noting that he is completely comfortable with who he is as a person even though some people may not like it.

I guess if you want to call it 'coming out,' I really don't know what to say it is.
I'm just letting you know that I'm happy with who I am, I'm comfortable with myself, and I'm happy to be living the dream.
Some people might not like it. Some people will like it. I'm here to please myself. I'm here to be happy.
I'm hoping to make a difference. It's very important to me to make people understand that someone's sexual preference shouldn't really matter. It should be about the person.

Fellow wrestler and popular figure John Cena was in full support of Young's recent announcement, telling MTV News that he's proud of Young for finally getting something like that off his chest and understands what it must feel like for Young to come out since Cena has a gay brother.
"Oh wonderful, I know Darren personally," Cena said. "Darren's a great guy. That's a very bold move for him. And congratulations for him for finally doing it."
In addition to Cena showing his support, the WWE came out in support of Young, saying they're proud of the superstar for announcing who he is and that they'll continue to support him.
On TMZ this morning, WWE Superstar Darren Young revealed to the WWE Universe that he is gay.
WWE is proud of Darren Young for being open about his sexuality, and we will continue to support him as a WWE Superstar.
