Authorities in Oregon are desperately trying to find a toddler who disappeared Saturday while playing in his front yard.

Dane Paulsen was reported missing around 4:25 p.m. on March 1. The 2-and-a-half-year-old was last seen in the front yard of his home located along Highway 229 near milepost 21, Lincoln County Sheriff's police said.

"At the time of Dane's disappearance, he was playing in the front yard of their residence and out of sight of his parents. Dane is friendly and fearless, and is comfortable around strangers and water, but cannot swim. Dane is known to love water and vehicles," police said.

Previously, the sheriff's office had asked the public for assistance in identifying a vehicle and a man located near a bridge about 30 minutes prior to Dane's disappearance. However, police announced that through community tips, they were able to identify the man and find the vehicle and that he was not a person of interest in the case.

"Investigators are following up on numerous leads, including investigating various leads provided by our community," police stated. "There is no evidence at this time to suggest criminal actions are involved in this incident."

At the time of his disappearance, Paulsen was wearing a grey fuzzy hoody with ears, blue and white shoes, and black pants. Dane has brown hair and green eyes.

Authorities have deployed numerous resources as part of the search including:

  • 4 Watercraft
  • 4 Divers
