"Dancing with the Stars" kicks off Season 17 on Sept. 16 with Week 1! The premiere night of the competitive dancing competition will debut the 12 celebrity and professional dancing couples, they will then perform one of three different dance styles narrowed down from America's votes. Contemporary will be the dance of choice for 3 of the 12 couples, the dance style borrows from many types of dance including, classical, modern and jazz styles. The lucky couples who get to perform the still young "DWTS" dance style will be, "High School Musical" star Corbin Bleu and Karina Smirnoff, "The Voice" social media correspondent and singer Christina Milian and Mark Ballas, and "Saved by the Bell" actress Elizabeth Berkley and Val Chmerkovskiy.
Another dance style for premiere night will be the Foxtrot. The couples starting their "DWTS" career with the Foxtrot include, actress Valerie Harper and Tristan MacManus and comedian Bill Engvall and Emma Slater. Also scheduled to foxtrot are "King of Queens" star Leah Remini and Tony Dovolani as well as reality star Jack Osbourne and Cheryl Burke.
The final five couples will be enjoying some up-tempo and spicier style, in the form of the Cha-Cha-Cha. "Pretty Little Liars" actor Brant Daugherty and Peta Murgatroyd, Bill Nye and Tyne Stecklein, "Glee" alum Amber Riley and Derek Hough, NFL star Keyshawn Johnson and Sharna Burgess, and "Jersey Shore" star Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi and Sasha Farber, will be bringing some Latin flavor to the ballroom.
The 12 new dancing pairs will be joined for Season 17 by long-time judges, Len Goodman, Carrie Ann Inaba and Bruno Tonioli. To catch Week 1 of "Dancing with the Stars" online click HERE, and to watch live be sure to tune in to ABC tonight, Sept. 16 for the 2-hour premiere at 8 p.m.
