On Sunday, Oct. 20, the 3-3 Philadelphia Eagles will host longtime rival the Dallas Cowboys at Lincoln Financial in what could may turn out to be a shootout as the two teams battle for control of the NFC East standings. Eagles' coach Chip Kelly's high-octane offense will be running up against a Cowboy defense which allows an average of 25.3 points per game, but fortunately for the hopes of Cowboy fans, the Eagles' defense has given up even more - a league-worst 29.8 points per game. It's likely that the scoreboard after this year's first matchup between the two will look a lot like it did last year, when in each game, the two scored at least 60 points combined. Eagles quarterback Michael Vick won't be taking snaps on Sunday, either. Vick put a rest on Friday to speculation as to who would get the start on Sunday, telling reporters, "I'm not playing this week. Not this week...I just can't rush it. I came out and tried to push it a little bit, tried to run a little faster. I was able to do that, but at the same time, I don't want to push it too much. I want to let things happen naturally." If backup Nick Foles continues his strong performances of late, it's possible we'll see a quarterback controversy in Philadelphia. Chip Kelly has signaled that it's a possible, saying, "I think it all depends on the individual situation."

The Cowboys' offense is no slouch, either. Against the Broncos in Week 5, they put up 48 points but lost by a field goal, and in their win over the Redskins, they put up 31, with an overall season average of 30.5 points per game. Cowboys QB Tony Romo set a franchise record against the Broncos with 506 yards and five touchdowns, though he managed much more modest production against the Redskins. No team has given up more passing yards than the Eagles, who have allowed 2,521, and only the Giants and Jaguars have given up more total points than Philadelphia's 179. Chances are, we're up for a barnburner at Lincoln Financial, when one team will go home with control of the division and the other with a sub-.500 record.
