A woman got punched in the face by a Target security guard during a confrontation. It began when she asked for "reparations" while she was in a checkout line.

The incident took place in October at the megastore in Blue Ash, Ohio where Karen Ivery tried to pay for her $1,000 grocery bill by demanding reparations from the manager at the store.

According to a police report, it started when Ivery asked the cashier at Target for their manager regarding the bill and reparations, reported New York Post.

The cashier told authorities that during the brief encounter, Ivery brought up reparations many times.

While speaking with the manager, she first asked for reparations and also became angry. She reportedly walked "aggressively" toward the manager.

The report alleged that as she kept walking toward the manager, she kept berating her about "reparations and her privileged life."

Loss prevention officer Zach Cotter jumped in and told her to calm down and leave.

But then she started screaming at Cotter and followed him to his office, as per the police report.

When he tried to close the door, Ivery allegedly forcefully entered and then Cotter punched her.

Surveillance footage of the incident showed his punch caused Ivery to fall down and hit the floor.

Authorities reviewed the video and wrote that they found Ivery was the "aggressor" after which she was taken to police custody.

The police report said that she was confrontational with cops who were at the store and she "didn't want to explain her actions."

According to Fox News, bodycam footage from Ivery's interaction with cops captured her comparing her situation to activist Rosa Parks. She told officers that she was summoning the manager "so we could have a larger conversation about how money" and the provision work. She wanted to discuss how it's been "working in our community in a very wrong way."

She was sentenced to a day in prison and also has to pay $110 for disorderly conduct.

In recent years, reparations have been a topic of heated debate. It involves a government entity or other institution giving money or funding to people of color who are either marginalized or descendants of slaves.
